Seabird colony monitoring data from seven locations at St Helena

Monthly seabird colony monitoring was conducted at five offshore island; Speery Island, Shore Island, Thompson's Valley Island, Peaked Island, Egg Island, and two mainland cliff sites; West Rocks and the mainland opposite Peaked Island between 2004 to 2007. Data was used to gain an accurate indication of seabird breeding cycles at St Helena.

Lineage Monthly colony surveys were completed by a minimum of two observers using either binoculars or a field scope at set observation points either on land or by boat. The average of the two tally counts were recorded in the Seabird database for collation. It includes seabird colony counts at Shore Island from Speery Island, Shore Island, Thompson's Valley Island, Peaked Island, Egg Island, West Rocks and the mainland opposite Peaked Island. All colony data is held on the Seabird Monitoring database at St Helena Government (SHG).
