| Lineage | The database was created under the DPLUS039 project to facilitate detailed capture of fisheries landing and accompanied biological data. Landings data is collected at the processing facility and subsequently given to EMD to enter in the database. Biological data is either collected at the processing facility by EMD staff or on the fishing vessel during observer trips. Tagging data is collected on the vessel by either EMD staff or trained fishermen. After data is entered in the database, it is checked by a different EMD staff member for quality control. All tagging data concerning ICCAT species will undergo an additional quality control by ICCAT. Note that this database is an updated verison of the previous database from 1980 - 2015. |
