Blood samples collected from Band-rumped storm petrels (Hydrobates castro) during June and November 2014

The data from these blood samples were used to investigate cryptic species across Hydrobates castro range globally through genetic divergence.

Lineage Blood samples were collected under the Darwin PLUS Initiative project (DPLUS018) and used to amplify the mitochondrial control region sequences from 34 adult Band-rumped storm petrel (Hydrobates castro) from St Helena, (12 cool season (June) and 22 hot season (November). Cytochrome b sequences were also amplified. The samples were collected by St Helena Government (SHG), processed at Queens University Kingston, Canada as project partners.
