Lineage Surveys were conducted on a montly basis at six fixed points over a 14 year period at both Sandy Bay and Ruperts beach. The surveys were started at low tide so that the maximum distance into the sea could be achieved. Each transected part of the beach is measured by using surveying poles along changes on a elavation or substrate. A clinometer was used to measure the slope/angle of the beach. A profile was then concluded to see the shape of the Sand Bay and Ruperts Beaches at each transcet. Note that both Sandy Bay and Ruperts beach were artificially changed in 2012 for seawall defence.
